I had the neatest experience at the grocery store on Sunday! We were standing in the pasta aisle and I had two boxes of whole wheat pasta in my hands trying to determine which brand had the best nutritional value. A woman was standing there as well and she seemed to be perplexed about the pasta. She kept looking at me then she would look back at her box of pasta. Sure enough she confesses to the whole pasta aisle that she doesn't know how to read a nutritional label. (cue the music: "here I come to save the daaaaay!") I came to her rescue! I told her that I know how to read a nutritional label and I proceeded to explain to her what to look for in whole wheat pasta as well as other store products. How cool! We stood there for a few minutes, blocking the entire pasta aisle so no one could pass by us. I'm sure people were pissed off at us, but hey...this was an extremely important, life-changing lesson for this woman! ;) As she made her pasta selection, I quickly reminded her to have a protein with the pasta. My bad...I didn't specify that she should have a LEAN protein because she proceeded to tell me that she has sausage at home which she'll happily add to the pasta. (sigh) Well....baby steps! I was just so happy to be there to help her!! It was the best feeling! :)
