TOP 5 SONGS TO BOOST YOUR WORKOUT

A professor from Brunel University in West London, England has created a formula for the perfect workout track. He tested 30 volunteers (not a very large group of subjects for the experiment, I might add!) on a variety of specially selected rock and pop music. He, Dr. Costas Karageorghis, found that their exercise endurance rose by an average of 15% which he says is a significant amount considering the only boost is from music.

His formula consists of the right rhythm, tempo and musicality of popular music but it also must be mixed with a bit of "cultural impact". (whatever that is!) He determined the best songs for moderate to intense exercise have to be between 120 and 140 beats per minute.

He concluded that the top 5 songs to listen to while exercising are the following...have a listen for yourself!

Can't say that these 5 songs would be MY choice to motivate me enough to endure painful workouts longer...but I'm not a research professor so what do I know?! (but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night!) lol And I swear, if Dancing Queen (song #5 on the list!) ever came on the satellite radio at Chad's studio, I'd fall right off the treadmill!!!!

It's really late and I'm getting punchy here at the computer. I better go!! :)

UPDATE: Actually, the songs are pretty catchy and upbeat! I think I like them! (except for Dancing Queen....lol)

  1. Dancing Queen might be a part of that list because it makes you want that song to hurry up and finish!
